Happy New Year to all.
Well thats the show season kicked off for us as we come to closing the shooting season. Yesterday, 25th January was our first show,
Border Counties Gundog Club, Judging was Mr Colin Woodward (Wadeson). And what a pleasure to show under the Chap, he did spice up the ring with an element of fun and witty banter.
Anyway the end result for us was Best of Breed and Best in Show 4 with our big boy Gunnar (Trudvang Gyldenborste At Gyldearn). Poor little Anja was however showing the effect of working through the winter months with great clumps of coat missing and didn't fair so well. Never mind there are other shows on other days.
Naturally we would like to thank Mr Woodward for the award he gave our boy.
Crufts 2009.
Well we attended the 'Big Show', there was a great atmosphere and we had plenty of time to meet and chat with the Continental Exhibitors which was really nice and productive, we also spent a lot of time with the 'General Public' who like to cwalk round the bench's looking at the dogs, and in the case of this breed, ruffle beards, many people displayed a genuine interest in having a GWP so we hope we were sufficiently informative for them to go out and select a kennel and 'type' they like. That said wedone well enough and Gunnar took a third in Limit Dog which I was glad of as the competition as you progress up the classes gets stronger with more mature dogs in these classes. Anja on the other hand decided to have a bouncy moment and as a result of not moving too well for Patsy to judge her movement had to settle for fourth in the Puppy Bitch Class.
Of course our thanks to Patsy for her time and to all we met on the day, hope to see you all soon.
